London Magician TJ Shoesmith Aboard the High Seas on M V Edwardian with Oliver Myles

We are delighted to share Tim’s Blog with Oliver Myles clients.

I was invited to perform as a London Magician on the M V Edwardian. This is a beautiful boat which was apparently built by Richard Branson in the 1980s for his own personal use. It consists of a lower deck which appears to be modeled on a plush London club, with oak-panelled walls. There is also a bar to the rear of the boat and an open deck on the top from which one can see the London sites. It even includes a dance floor when required.

The event was for a small number of guests although the boat can sit 60 or more. The boat had been hired by the head of a London firm to entertain clients. The afternoon consisted of a trip on the London Eye followed by boarding the Edwardian on the South Bank and returning to London’s Butlers Wharf Pier.Mel from Oliver Myles, (a Boutique Event Agency with an impressive portfolio) was the event manager and kept everything moving smoothly. The open top deck really did give a spectacular view of London from the Southbank down to the 02 and back. I managed to take a few pictures of Tower Bridge.I worked on the top deck for small groups before the meal showing them close up magic. Once main course was finished I performed a short cabaret at the dinner table. Once guests were back on the top deck I finished with a few of my favourites. This was my first time back on a boat since my days of Cruising with Royal Caribbean. I have another booked in for later this month. There is certainly a different atmosphere aboard ship and it tends to bring out the best in people.I very much enjoyed the trip, although slightly choppy at times, the weather was great and the people fun and inviting.

Don’t Just Take Our Word For It

We travelled to Reims to participate in the Champagne weekend. The first evening was lovely with tastings at two independent champagne producers and that was followed by a meal in a nearby village. The following day was at leisure while on the evening we were taken to Epernay to visit the wine cellars of Moet and Chandon followed by a private meal in the Orangery at Moet and Chandon with a welcome glass of champagne and a matched meal with four different champagnes. The whole experience was wonderful with the right balance of organised activity and free time. It was a good sized group and we were able to witness the harvest of the grapes so it was a fairly unique experience. The overall experience was wonderful and I would have no hesitation in both Highly Recommending the trip and also in looking out future experiences to participate in. Thank you Melanie for your organisation and expertise.
