A special, social evening for the team at Hambridge Ltd
Hambridge Ltd, a family run industrial property-owning company, turned to Oliver Myles Events to help create and manage their annual company event for the first time in 2020. The evening event, which was for 14-16 people and intended as an intimate and special occasion, offered Hambridge something different to the usual “Christmas” party offerings and the drink-eat-dance formula which dominate the event space.
The event was initially planned for December 2019, to coincide with Christmas, but was actually held on Saturday 1 February 2020, thus ensuring the whole company would be able to attend. The occasion centred around a private visit to The Tower of London after it was closed the public – exclusively to Hambridge and therefore for just 14 people – with a viewing of the Crown Jewels led by the Duty Historian at the Tower. Whilst at the Tower, in the Hall of Monarchs, guests were also treated with a glass of Prosecco and delicious canapes, specially arranged with the Tower’s approved caterers for Hambridge.
This was an extremely special experience, as Jeremy Sanders, owner and MD of Hambridge Ltd describes: “We are such a close-knit team, and many of us have been working together for over 20 years, so to do something new and different was so enjoyable for us. The Duty Historian was fantastic, very interesting and informative, as well as really entertaining with a great sense of humour. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The few members of our team who had visited the Tower of London before, on a public tour, could not believe how different and how much better this experience was.”
Once the Crown Jewels talk and viewing in the Treasury was complete, cars were ready and waiting to take guests to the second part of their evening – a delicious three course dinner at Le Pont de la Tour. Le Pont de la Tour is a beautiful Parisian-chic riverside destination, very close to the Tower of London.
This was a special way to continue the evening, offering Hambridge a private dining experience in their own exclusive Privee Salon. Jeremy expands: “The food was delicious, and we loved the little touches. Oliver Myles Events had remembered our joke about Christmas crackers in February and the birthday cake for one of our staff had a personal hand-piped message which was lovely. We had a great evening, such a good laugh, and people were saying how much they really didn’t want it to end.”
As we always do with our events, every detail was thought-through and carefully considered to make sure the client and all those attending had a wonderful, fun-filled, high quality experience. As an added extra “moment” we even made the most of guests’ early arrival at our planned meeting point near the Tower of London by arranging a last-minute table at the luxurious Four Season’s Trinity Hotel for an arrival welcome drink. Always a good way to start any event!
Summing up the event, Jeremy had these words: “Our evening was amazing – an experience I would recommend to anyone. Having stumbled across Oliver Myles Events online, you are never quite sure what to expect when you haven’t worked with a company before. I have to say everyone has been great, extremely understanding and so helpful from start to finish. This was a fantastic experience.”
