Evora Global, offsite in the Lake District October 2022

From the moment that we met Tia and Hannah from Evora Global at the PA Show at ExCel London we knew that they would be great clients to work with. They had a vision for an event that would bring together their whole team from across the globe, UK, Germany, Italy, Romania, France, India and the USA for the first time since the pandemic. They last had a team get together in 2019 when there was just over 40 people in the company. During lockdown the company has grown hugely and so bringing together 160 people (most of whom had never met) for 3 days was quite a daunting task and one we delighted to help with.

The first stage of an event of this scale is always the proposal and before starting work we asked what was most important to them, sustainability was the answer. With this is in mind we suggested a number of different options for locations and activities that had sustainability at the core.

After sending off the brief they invited us to a meeting to discuss our suggestions. It was a great start to the meeting when Tia said of all the proposals received, they felt we had really listened to their needs and had presented ideas that matched. A great start.

All proposals are a starting point for discussion. Mel and Tia set off for the Lake District on a site visit and from there a plan started to evolve. As a result the Old England, MacDonald Hotel, Bowness on Windemere was booked and the real planning started.

Most of the team were meeting for the very first time and so it was important that the activities were inclusive and gave people the chance to bond. The emphasis was on fun. Over the course of three days guests enjoyed a traditional English Afternoon Tea, journey across Lake Windemere, archery, axe throwing, duck herding and canoeing. The dance floor was heaving as people danced along to the DJ on the first night, a real ice breaker. The second evening was a formal Black-Tie dinner and the room looked stunning themed in rose gold glamour.

We helped to arrange gifts for the raffle prizes, the raffle supported a local charity the Fellrunner Village Bus and they raised an amazing £3,100, smashing their target.

The event is always the client’s chance to shine, and we stay in the background making sure that their vision comes to life, but we were delighted when they surprised us at the Awards dinner with a thank you for all we had done to assist.

At the end of the 3 days guests departed clutching packed lunches for their journeys home, asking when the next one will be?

Wherever and whenever it may be Tia and Hannah have said they would not dream of running the event without us and we will be delighted to be there working with such a great company.

“I cannot recommend Oliver Myles enough! After meeting them at a PA show in the Spring, they have been amazing – from finding us multiple options for 160 people, to the site visit, to incredible organization over the three day event. Mel is phenomenal, keeping us in the loop and creating the most perfect event that everyone loved. Sue and David are fabulous too! Thank you so much for all your help, we can’t wait to work with you again!”  Tia Micunovic
