Wine Tasting and Tour of Blandy’s Wine Lodge

On your second day, enjoy the best Madeira wine from around the island at Blandy’s Wine Lodge where Churchill famously spent his time.

Experience Funchal history – Blandy’s Wine Lodge has been the heart of the family’s wine business for over seven generations.

You’ll take part in a vintage guided tour that explains the aging process of Madeira wines.

This includes access to the attics of the wine lodge, where their wines are aged in the “Canteiro” system, huge vats in the “Lions” Room, the Cooperage, and an exclusive view of the Blandy’s family’s private collection of unique vintage  Madeiras. You will then enjoy a tasting of two Madeira wines in the Vintage room, including a sample of one

Begin your evening with an exclusive drink reception and a gorgeous view; a memory you will never forget.

Watercolour Painting Class in Câmara de Lobos

Churchill fell in love with Câmara de Lobos during his visit in 1950. Whilst there, he painted an outstanding portrait of the bay with the “Xavelhas” – a term to describe the colourful fisherman boats.

The village continues to remember his visit and you will see many sites named after him.

On your final day in Madeira, you’ll enjoy a walking tour in Câmara de Lobos to see the views and recreatethose memories with a watercolour painting class.
