Stuck with the challenging brief of creating a private, prestigious corporate entertaining event for around 40 guests, comprising top clients and partners? Take a look at some of our ideas organised by Oliver Myles.
The British Pullman
The British Pullman is on many people’s bucket list, making this option an important criterion for many businesses. It’s one of those rare “hard-to-turn-down” invitations! To make this exclusive, we can secure entire 20-seat carriages for private use.
We work with our partners at the British Pullman to offer the best journeys and events, such as visiting Blenheim Palace or the Chatsworth House Flower Show, and bring in elements which make the day even more special and private.
For example, printing your company logo and a message on the official Pullman menus, having Bell-Boy mime artists welcoming guests at arrival at London’s Victoria Station, arranging private transfers, and bringing along our award-winning walkabout magician to engage with just the right amount of stimulus and humour on board.
With exclusive hire of the carriages, guests are free to mingle with each other and change seating arrangements. The seats are also movable, so they can be turned inwards to face guests on the opposite side of the carriage, making a more social arrangement.
Due to the mainly paired seating layout within the carriages, this can be a particularly appealing option for the partners (wives and husbands) of your VIP clients, as it is possible for couples to have some time as a couple for part of your event.

A Day Trip to The Ritz Paris
If you are not restricted to the UK and would like to offer a corporate entertaining event, location, and venue with the wow factor, how about a day trip to Paris and a fine-dining experience at The Ritz? The Salon d’Ete at The Ritz Paris is stunning and can be booked for exclusive use.
The perfect way for guests to start their day with a glass of Champagne at Searcy’s famous Champagne Bar at London’s St Pancras Station before they travel to Paris by Eurostar. Once at The Ritz Paris, guests enjoy an arrival drinks reception and sumptuous three-course lunch, with our local musicians entertaining during courses.

Sailing Day on The Solent
Another wonderful option is Sailing Day. This is both adventurous and good fun, and in terms of bonding with your clients, this makes for an unforgettable experience that can create even stronger relationships. This corporate entertaining event would take place on The Solent.
The morning is spent learning the techniques of handling a sailing yacht (we use 49ft Jeanneau Sun Odysseys) followed by lunch in a waterside location and an afternoon of racing. A post-event debrief/dinner concludes the event, providing the chance for guests to discuss their experiences of sailing and offers further socialising and networking opportunities.
We use experienced skippers, crews, and a race manager who we have worked with for many years and who has over sixteen years of experience in managing on-the-water programmes.

Hampton Court Palace – Travelling by Boat
Consider holding an event at Henry VIII’s majestic Hampton Court Palace? This is a venue we have used for client entertaining purposes many times, as it offers both the option of a private guided tour of the palace plus a private/exclusive dining option in the “Little Banqueting House”.
In addition, being on Richmond upon Thames, guests can arrive by boat, which is a lovely, special addition to the day, and allows us to offer arrival champagne and nibbles. A lovely start to any day.

Little Banqueting House is a very ornate space, with the same sense of majesty and history as the Palace. It can be approached easily by river boat. It can accommodate up to 50 guests for a drinks reception with a sit-down meal.
We like to offer our clients walk-about/meet and greet “medieval” entertainers such as jesters and minstrels to greet guests as they arrive and provide historically accurate entertainment. The private tour of the Palace would be organised to take place either before or after your lunch.
An additional consideration – every year (June-July), Hampton Court Palace holds a music festival, an evening event with concerts typically at 9 pm and the social and hospitality options from 5.30 pm. You could tie in your event to coincide with this and make a day and night of it!
