Ascot QIPCO King George Weekend 25 – 26 July 2025

King George Weekend

King George Weekend is one of Ascot’s greatest occasions, presenting a sparkling cocktail of style and world-class racing. With the weekend first being run in 1951, it is steeped in history and is one of Britain’s most prestigious openage flat races. The racecourse is in full bloom at this time of year with an electric atmosphere and top-quality action on the track

Saturday hosts the feature race – King George VI and Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes. This historic race boasts an impressive list of previous victors including; Nijinsky, Brigadier Gerard, Shergar, Dancing Brave and Galileo. However, none have been quite as successful as the epitome of equine excellence, Enable, who etched her name into the history books in 2020 as the only three-time winner of this mid-summer highlight (2017, 2019 & 2020).
